Bamboo Industry
Entire of Varin district, the bamboo project was established by GIZ in 2016 which training of trainers was provided to local people to become bamboo experts, in among the 5 communes of Svay Sar, Prasat, Lvea Krang, Varin, and Srae Noy, and GIZ supported many local excursions to different districts of Siem Reap such as Chikreng, Sotr Nikum, Banteay Srei etc. With the bamboo experts included provincial government partners GIZ supported them to visit outside countries such as Thailand, China, and India. Several species of bamboos are imported from Thailand and Vietnam.
This training that provided by local trainers is simple with pictures explanation and sample seedling for practical planting after that.
